Sunday Times bestselling author Paige Toon is well known for her annual summer chick lit for women, although her venture into the world of young adult fiction was just as spectacular as everything else she publishes. The third and final novel in the Jessie Jefferson series picked up where the previous book 'I Knew You Were Trouble' left off.
As the novel begins we find a young Jessie Jefferson who is still struggling to come to terms with the expanse and status of her new found fame as the daughter of one of the world's most famous rockstars. With a promising music career on the rise, an enviable love interest and a new group of friends to keep her busy, Jessie starts to question whether a life of fame and fortune is all it's cracked up to be.
The conclusion to Toon's first move into Young Adult fiction is a page turner from start to finish that is propelled by an enticing conception of witty dialogue and familiar characters. Without a dull moment in sight, the plot races along at breakneck speed and has a tendency to be slightly predictable in places, however this subtracts nothing from the overall enjoyment of the plot.
'All About The Hype' is one that will keep you entertained for hours with its short chapters and fun-filled prose that makes it compulsively readable. Even if young adult fiction isn't your thing, pick up a copy and be pleasantly surprised.
